To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My Battle With Melanoma I was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma on a warm spring day like today in 2000. I didn’t feel sick but the mole on my back tested positive for melanoma. At first, I thought the cancer would spread and I would die! I searched the web and found a doctor’s website and began a GM-CSF regimen (immunotherapy) to prevent a reoccurrence after removal of right arm lymphnodes in 2001. After three years of treatment and additional years of checkups and skin checks I am free of the melanoma. The Lord has been with me through this ordeal. He has given me hope that all will turn out right. Now, I work in a laboratory and help the pathologists diagnose leukemia in children. I guess it’s my way of giving back for all the support and care from the nurses and doctors. Comments
